Max’s Donuts has been a Lapeer institution since 2013, but their brand new sign might fool one into thinking that the W Genesee St. business only recently opened its doors. The fact is that a decade of sun-bleaching simply called for a fresh presentation.
Owner Lyna Tuy loves her new-ish sign (she estimates that she got it in August and credits Signs by Crannie out of Flint as having created it) and felt that it was necessary in order to make sure the community remained confident that the business was alive and well. “People would ask are you open? Are you closing the store?” Tuy explained.
